MILES CITY, Mont. — Playing some of their best basketball of the season, the Williston State College men's basketball team pulled out a gritty 82-80 road win over Miles Community College on Saturday in Miles City.

The victory pushes the Tetons to 16-10 on the year and continues a strong late-season surge marked by improved execution, toughness, and poise in close games. Williston State led for much of the night but had to withstand a late push from Miles CC to seal the two-point win.

Josiah McDonald turned in a complete performance, leading the Tetons with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists while logging all 40 minutes. McDonald also added two steals and two blocks, setting the tone on both ends of the floor.

Eden Hobbs added 16 points, while Andrew Sauer was efficient from the field with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including two three-pointers. Carson Haerer chipped in 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists, and Grantham Milner contributed 11 points and six boards to give Williston State balanced scoring throughout the lineup.

The Tetons controlled the glass, holding a 40-42 rebounding margin despite Miles CC's size, and forced key stops down the stretch to protect their slim lead. Williston State finished with eight steals and limited its mistakes, committing just eight turnovers in a tightly contested game.

Miles Community College was led by Azenio Cossa, who scored 23 points, and Uwami Chongo, who posted 18 points and 12 rebounds. Shad Boyce added 14 points, while Donnie Haney chipped in 11, as the Pioneers kept the pressure on until the final buzzer.

Despite Miles CC shooting 39.1 percent from three-point range, Williston State's composure in crunch time and strong senior leadership proved to be the difference.

With the narrow road victory, the Tetons continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season, showing they are peaking at the right time as they sit at 16-10 and playing their most complete basketball of the year.
