Men's Basketball takes down UTTC 115-93
BISMARCK, N.D. — The Williston State College men's basketball team put together a dominant offensive showing on the road, defeating United Tribes Technical College 115–93 on Wednesday night.
Williston State shot 54.5 percent from the field and used a balanced yet explosive scoring attack to pull away from UTTC, highlighted by a pair of huge individual performances. Josiah McDonald and Eden Hobbs each poured in 39 points, combining for 78 of the Tetons' 115 points.
McDonald was outstanding from the perimeter and the floor, finishing 15-of-27 shooting, including 6-of-13 from three-point range, while adding seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Hobbs matched him shot-for-shot, going 17-of-28 from the field and adding six rebounds in 35 minutes of action.
Williston State built its advantage with efficient scoring and steady ball movement, recording 17 assists while committing just six turnovers on the night. The Tetons also controlled the glass, outrebounding United Tribes 39–31.
Carson Haerer contributed across the stat sheet with nine points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, while Andrew Sauer added nine points and seven rebounds. Grantham Milner provided solid minutes inside with eight points and six rebounds in just 21 minutes. Off the bench, Christopher Davis chipped in seven points.
United Tribes was led by Zi White Woman, who scored 27 points on an efficient 11-of-13 shooting performance, and Gerald Kingbird, who added 21 points. Despite shooting nearly 48.4 percent as a team, UTTC could not keep pace with Williston State's firepower and efficiency.
The Tetons reached the century mark for the second time in the contest and closed the game strong, sealing an impressive 115–93 road victory.
Williston State will look to carry the momentum forward as conference play continues at home next Thursday.
