Baseball Sweeps MCC
The Williston State College Tetons rode dominant pitching and timely hitting to a four-game sweep of Miles Community College in a Sunday/Monday series, winning 13-7, 3-2, 8-0 and 2-0.
Williston State set the tone early in Game 1, outslugging MCC 13-7 behind a balanced offensive attack. Carter Reimer led the way with two hits and three RBIs, while Grant Nekuza added two hits and drove in a pair. Ashton Sweet delivered a big performance with two hits and four RBIs, and Dylan Klossner chipped in two hits and an RBI. On the mound, Cameron Fenn worked five innings, striking out five, before the bullpen combination of Colter Bunnell and Alexander Kienberger closed things out.
Game 2 turned into a pitcher's duel, with Collin Cobb delivering one of the Tetons' strongest outings of the series. Cobb went the distance, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out 10. Offensively, Nekuza continued his strong weekend with two hits and an RBI, while Bradley Cepada scored twice and added an RBI in the 3-2 win.
Back in Williston for Game 3, the Tetons' pitching took full control. Nick Shrider was dominant, tossing a complete-game shutout while striking out 12 and allowing just three hits in an 8-0 victory. Offensively, Matt Moreno Jackson had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Jason Carbno and Dylan Klossner each drove in two runs, while Nekuza and Cepada added to the scoring effort.
The series finale saw another stellar performance on the mound, as Rowan Fredrickson and Lachlan Amon combined for a four-hit shutout in a 2-0 win. Fredrickson went five innings, allowing three hits, and Amon closed the door with two scoreless innings and five strikeouts. Reimer delivered a key hit with two RBIs, while Tyler Jensen and Gage Macri each scored a run to support the pitching staff.
Across the four games, the Tetons leaned heavily on their pitching depth, allowing just nine total runs—including two shutouts—while consistently producing enough offense to secure the sweep. The strong all-around performance gives Williston State valuable momentum as they continue conference play.
