Baseball Takes Four from Dakota College
The Williston State College baseball team delivered a dominant statement over the weekend, sweeping Dakota College in a four-game MonDak series with scores of 4-0, 10-0, 18-0, and 19-9.
The Tetons showcased their firepower throughout the series, combining timely hitting with overwhelming offensive production to secure the sweep.
Game three highlighted Williston State's offensive depth in an 18-0 rout. The Tetons plated 18 runs on 10 hits while drawing seven walks. Rylan Nohr led the way with a 2-for-3 performance, scoring three times and adding an RBI. Bradley Cepada chipped in two hits and two runs, while Grant Nekuza reached base consistently and drove in two runs.
Jason Carbno delivered one of the biggest swings of the game, going 1-for-2 with four RBIs, while Dylan Klossner also drove in four runs on one hit. Ashton Sweet added two RBIs, and Matt Moreno Jackson scored three runs and knocked in another to round out the offensive surge.
Williston State carried that momentum into game four, erupting for 19 runs on 16 hits in a 19-9 victory to complete the sweep. Cepada paced the offense with a huge performance, going 2-for-4 with six RBIs and three runs scored. Nekuza followed with three hits and four RBIs, while Klossner added three hits and four RBIs of his own.
Carter Reimer set the tone at the top of the lineup, reaching base five times with two hits and three walks while scoring three runs. Matt Moreno Jackson stayed hot with a 3-for-4 outing and three runs scored, and Ashton Sweet contributed two hits and three RBIs.
Across the four-game series, the Tetons outscored Dakota College 51-9, including three shutouts, underscoring their dominance on both sides of the ball. Williston State's balanced attack and depth throughout the lineup continue to make them a force in MonDak play as they look ahead to their next conference matchup against NDSCS.
