WILLISTON, N.D. — The Williston State College baseball team opened MonDak Conference play in strong fashion over the weekend, posting a 3-1 record highlighted by dominant pitching performances and a high-powered offense.
The Tetons earned victories of 8-2, 9-0, and 16-5, with their lone setback coming in a 4-1 contest. Across the four-game stretch, Williston State consistently produced at the plate while receiving standout efforts on the mound.
Leading the offensive charge was Bradley Cepada, who put together a remarkable weekend, going 9-for-15 (.600) with six runs scored, five RBIs, and three stolen bases. Dylan Klossner also impressed, hitting .500 with two doubles, five runs scored, and four RBIs, while posting a .600 on-base percentage.
Hanson Allen provided power in the lineup, launching a home run and driving in four runs while batting .357. Jason Carbno and Ashton Sweet added depth to the offense with five hits apiece, combining for seven RBIs and helping fuel multiple big scoring innings throughout the series.
On the mound, the Tetons were anchored by a pair of complete-game performances. Collin Cobb was dominant in his start, tossing a seven-inning shutout while allowing just two hits and striking out 10. Cameron Fenn also went the distance, earning a complete-game victory after allowing just two runs over seven innings.
Williston State's pitching staff limited opponents to minimal scoring in three of the four games, including a shutout performance in the 9-0 win, while the offense erupted for 33 total runs in their three victories.
The strong start positions the Tetons at 3-1 in conference play as they look to build momentum heading deeper into the MonDak schedule.
