Tetons Sweep Lake Region in Non-Conference Doubleheader at Rabon Field
WILLISTON, N.D. — The Williston State College baseball team put together a dominant afternoon at Rabon Field, sweeping Lake Region State College in a non-conference doubleheader with a 10-0 shutout in Game 1 followed by a 7-4 victory in Game 2.
The Tetons combined strong pitching, timely hitting and patience at the plate to secure the sweep on their home field.
Game 1: Fenn Fires Perfect Game in 10-0 Rout
Williston State wasted little time setting the tone in the opener, pounding out 12 hits and drawing seven walks in a five-inning, run-rule victory.
On the mound, Cameron Fenn was nearly untouchable. The right-hander threw a five-inning no-hitter, allowing no runs and no hits while striking out seven and walking none to earn the win and improve to 2-0 on the season.
Offensively, the Tetons were efficient from top to bottom in the lineup.
Center fielder Hanson Allen went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, while shortstop Grant Nekuza finished 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Bradley Cepada added two hits and two RBIs, and Dylan Klossner drove in two runs as part of his 2-for-4 performance.
Gage Macri contributed two hits and two runs scored, and catcher Rylan Nohr chipped in an RBI as Williston State tallied nine RBIs on 10 runs.
The Tetons' aggressive approach at the plate, paired with Fenn's dominance on the mound, sealed the shutout and gave Williston State momentum heading into Game 2.
Game 2: Sweet and Klossner Power Tetons to Sweep
Game 2 proved more competitive, but the Tetons once again delivered when it mattered most, securing a 7-4 victory to complete the sweep.
Williston State scored seven runs on seven hits while drawing eight walks, continuing to pressure Lake Region's pitching staff.
Ashton Sweet had a big game at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, including a key hit that broke the game open. Dylan Klossner stayed hot, collecting two more hits and driving in three runs to lead the offense.
Allen added two hits and two runs scored from the leadoff spot, while Nekuza and Cepada each crossed the plate once. Jason Carbno and Matt Moreno Jackson combined to draw six walks, helping fuel multiple scoring opportunities.
On the mound, Williston State used a committee approach. Nick Shrider, Lachlan Amon, and Tyler Morales combined to secure the win, limiting Lake Region to four runs and preserving the late lead.
With the sweep, the Tetons demonstrated balance in all phases — dominant pitching in the opener and clutch, situational hitting in the finale.
Williston State will look to carry that momentum forward as it continues non-conference play, building confidence with back-to-back wins at Rabon Field.
