Tetons Outlast Rocky Mountain in Five-Set Thriller
The Williston State College volleyball team showed grit and determination on Saturday, battling their way to a five-set victory over Rocky Mountain College (25-22, 25-227, 25-12, 20-25, 15-9) in Bismarck, ND.
Led by a powerful one-two punch from Ella Morken and Dani Jordan, the Tetons' offense came alive when it mattered most. Morken delivered a match-high 21 kills on a .319 hitting percentage, while Jordan followed closely with 14 kills and an impressive .407 efficiency. Together, the pair accounted for over half of Williston State's total points.
Setter Tristy Kreil orchestrated the attack beautifully, dishing out 26 assists while adding 11 digs and an ace. Defensively, the Tetons were anchored by Abi Elkins, who tallied 9 digs and contributed six assists.
From the service line, Williston State made their mark, totaling 15 aces as a team. Jordan led the way with five, while Kambre Kloker, Elkins, and Paula Blanco Retuerta each added two. The Tetons' aggressive serving kept Rocky Mountain on their heels throughout the night.
Middle hitter Erika Hanson and freshman Kallee Hopes combined for six blocks, helping Williston State control the net during key moments in the match.
With the victory, the Tetons continue to build momentum heading into the heart of their fall schedule.
