RIVERDALE, N.Y. - In anticipation for the upcoming 2026-27 basketball season starting in November, Manhattan University's women's basketball program has added a transfer prospect in Australian-born Taylah Murtagh, announced by Head Coach Heather Vulin on Wednesday morning. 

Spending her first two seasons at NJCAA member Williston State College in Williston, North Dakota, the 5'9 guard brings a dynamic skillset to the Green and White. 

"Taylah brings elite perimeter scoring and a deadly three-point shot. What truly separates her is her winning mindset, ability to run in transition, and a defensive edge that's often overlooked," commented Vulin. 

Murtagh started in 51 of her 62 games as a freshman and sophomore at Williston State, averaging 15.7 points on a nightly basis along with 170 assists, 147 steals, and over 300 rebounds. In the season finale of her first year for the Tetons, she posted 30 points on 10-for-18 shooting including four-for-ten beyond the arc. She recorded a double-double in that contest, bringing down 10 rebounds and added three steals. 

"She is a proven winner who knows how to elevate a program, going 56-10 across two seasons and a trip to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament this past season," added Vulin. 

The Australian native expanded upon her stellar freshman season, increasing her scoring average from 13.1 to 18.1 while knocking down an extra 30 shots (93) from three-point range. She was able to string together two more 30+ point performances, setting a new career-mark of 34 against Briercrest College, shooting 12-for-22 from the field and connecting on eight shots from deep, another career-best. 

In back-to-back games at North Idaho College and South Mountain Community College, Murtagh tallied 11 rebounds followed by seven steals, establishing her threat level on the defensive end. 

"Taylah will bring a championship culture wherever she goes, including here in Riverdale with the Jaspers," concluded Vulin.
