Teton Women Down Lake Region 87-50
The Williston State College women's basketball team turned in a dominant all-around performance, rolling past Lake Region State College 87–50 in a convincing conference victory.
Williston State set the tone early with aggressive defense and control of the paint, building a steady lead that only grew as the game progressed. The Tetons finished with a commanding 54–33 rebounding advantage and forced Lake Region into 27 turnovers, repeatedly turning defense into offense.
Jersey Berg led all scorers with a monster night, pouring in 24 points on 12-of-22 shooting while adding nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block. Leila Heffernan was just as impactful inside, posting a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, along with four steals and two blocks.
Williston State's backcourt also played a key role in the blowout. Taylah Murtagh knocked down three three-pointers and finished with 17 points, while Dani Jordan chipped in 10 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Sophie Barker added 10 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, helping keep the offense balanced and flowing.
Off the bench, Lucia Bellido provided a spark with nine points and six rebounds in 16 minutes, as Williston State received contributions up and down the lineup. The Tetons shot 40.2 percent from the field and an efficient 16-of-18 from the free-throw line.
Lake Region was led by Sydney Schwabe, who scored 15 points, and Danielle McNamara, who added 11 points and 13 rebounds. However, the Royals struggled offensively, shooting just 28.1 percent from the floor and 25 percent from three-point range, while battling foul trouble and turnovers throughout the night.
