The Williston State College women’s basketball team delivered a dominant performance, rolling past Briercrest College 101–47 in a lopsided nonconference matchup.
From the opening tip, the Tetons set the tone with relentless defensive pressure and efficient scoring, quickly building a double-digit lead that only grew as the game went on. Williston State shot an impressive 51.9 percent from the field and forced 34 Briercrest turnovers, turning defense into offense throughout the night.
Taylah Murtagh led all scorers with a game-high 34 points, knocking down eight three-pointers and shooting 12-of-22 from the floor. Her perimeter shooting sparked a balanced offensive attack that saw five Tetons score in double figures. Jersey Berg added 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Dani Jordan chipped in 14 points and six rebounds. Off the bench, Lucia Bellido made a strong impact with 17 points and a double-double effort, pulling down 10 rebounds.
Williston State also shared the ball effectively, finishing with 29 assists, led by Sophie Barker's 10 assists to go along with six steals. The Tetons won the rebounding battle 42–37 and consistently converted second-chance opportunities.
Briercrest struggled to find offensive rhythm against Williston State's pressure, shooting just 26.2 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from three-point range. Sienna Andersen paced the Clippers with 16 points, while Sydney Waind added nine. Despite solid effort on the glass, Briercrest was unable to overcome the turnover margin and Williston State's depth.
With the 101–47 victory, Williston State continued to show its depth and scoring versatility, using contributions up and down the lineup to secure an emphatic win.
