Williston State College Women’s Basketball Secures Victory Over United Tribes in Non-Conference Matchup
The Williston State College Tetons Women's Basketball team powered past the United Tribes Technical College Thunderbirds with a decisive 86-63 victory in a thrilling non-conference showdown.
The Tetons came out firing in the first quarter, quickly establishing a double-digit lead. Their energy and precision set the tone for what looked to be a dominant performance. However, the Thunderbirds showed resilience in the second quarter, tightening their defense and finding their rhythm offensively. By halftime, the Tetons' lead had shrunk to just three points, setting up a competitive second half.
Coming out of the break, Williston State wasted no time regaining control. They executed flawlessly on both ends of the court, gradually pulling away from UTTC. The Tetons' defense stifled the Thunderbirds' efforts, while their offense operated with a balance of perimeter shooting and interior dominance. The fourth quarter was all Tetons, as they extended their lead and secured their 10th win of the season.
Allison Kunze led the charge for Williston State, delivering an impressive performance with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Her consistent scoring and presence on the boards anchored the Tetons throughout the game. Jersey Berg was equally impactful, filling the stat sheet with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. The duo's leadership and versatility proved too much for the Thunderbirds to handle.
With this win, the Tetons continue to build momentum as they progress through the season. Their balanced team play and ability to adapt to challenges have made them a formidable force on the court.
