Williston State Softball Sweeps Lake Region State in Dominant Series Performance
WILLISTON, N.D. — The Williston State College softball team delivered an impressive all-around performance, completing a multi-game sweep over Lake Region State College behind dominant pitching, explosive offense, and consistent execution.
Williston State showcased its depth throughout the series, outscoring Lake Region in every matchup while combining for strong pitching performances and timely hitting.
Game one saw the Tetons set the tone early in a 7-0 shutout victory. Danica Dominaux led the offensive charge, going 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Jersey Berg added two hits and two runs, while Claire Minchuk and Hayley Hernandez each drove in runs. In the circle, Lily Adams was dominant, tossing a complete-game shutout with nine strikeouts and allowing just four hits.
The offense continued to roll in game two, as Williston State pounded out 14 hits in a 7-4 win. Cameron MacDonald and Jersey Berg each recorded two hits and an RBI, while Minchuk contributed both in the circle and at the plate with a two-hit, one-RBI performance. Hernandez and Taralynn Vershum also drove in runs to support Minchuk, who struck out 10 batters in a complete-game effort.
In game three, the Tetons once again scored seven runs, powered by clutch hitting and aggressive baserunning. MacDonald drove in two runs, while Dominaux, Minchuk, Hernandez, and Adams each added RBIs. Adams earned the win in the circle, allowing just two runs over seven innings while striking out three.
Williston State closed out the sweep in dominant fashion with a 10-2 victory. Jersey Berg delivered a standout performance, launching a home run and driving in five runs. Taralynn Vershum also homered and added two RBIs, while MacDonald scored three runs and contributed offensively. Bria Bonik led the team with three hits. Elizabeth Morris earned the win, combining with Minchuk to limit Lake Region to just two runs.
Across the series, Williston State's balanced attack was evident, with multiple players contributing offensively and in the circle. The Tetons displayed power, speed, and discipline at the plate while their pitching staff consistently kept Lake Region hitters off balance.
With the sweep, Williston State builds momentum heading into the next stretch of conference play, continuing to establish itself as a formidable force on both sides of the ball.
