The Williston State College hockey team won the season opener against NDSU 4-3. The Tetons got early production from a familiar face. Jackson Dodds would score the first two goals of the game giving the Tetons a 2-0 lead. In the second period Cody Barnes would make it 3-0 after a breakaway goal. NDSU would put up a strong fight as they tied the game at three at the midway point of the third period. Riley Erickson would score the first goal of his career and it would prove to be a big one. The Tetons would hold off NDSU late to start the season 1-0.
