WILLISTON, N.D. — Following two historic seasons that brought championships, national recognition, and record-breaking performances, the Williston State College women's basketball and baseball programs have been honored by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association in its annual year-end awards.

The Teton women's basketball team was named the North Dakota Women's College Team of the Year after a remarkable 32-2 campaign that saw the program capture the Mon-Dak Conference, Region 13, and North Central District championships. Guided by veteran head coach Bill Triplett, the Tetons put together one of the most successful seasons in school history while earning a berth on the national stage.

Leading the charge was Bismarck native Jersey Berg, who averaged 16.4 points, 2.8 assists, and 6.6 rebounds per game. Berg's outstanding season earned her NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention honors and a commitment to continue her career at Division I University of Wyoming next season.

The Tetons also relied heavily on standout guard Taylah Murtagh, who averaged 18.1 points, 2.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 35.2 percent from beyond the three-point line. Murtagh will continue her basketball career at Division I Manhattan University.

Together, Berg and Murtagh helped power an explosive Williston State offense while establishing the Tetons as one of the premier junior college programs in the country.

The accolades continued on the diamond as the Teton baseball team was selected as the North Dakota Men's College Team of the Year after a 47-15 season highlighted by a Region 13 Championship and a trip to the NJCAA North Central District Tournament.

Williston State's success was built around one of the nation's top pitching staffs. The Tetons posted a 4.41 team ERA while setting a school record with 490 strikeouts. Defensively, the program led all of junior college baseball with a remarkable .980 fielding percentage, showcasing the complete team effort that defined the season.

At the forefront of the pitching staff was First Team NJCAA All-American Collin Cobb, who delivered one of the most dominant seasons in program history. The Arizona commit finished with a 2.18 ERA over 70 innings while establishing a new school record with 119 strikeouts.

The team's success also brought individual recognition for head coach Mason Przybilla. In his seventh season leading the Tetons, Przybilla was the 2026 Mon-Dak Conference and Region 13 Coach of the Year. He now adds another prestigious honor to his résumé after being selected as the North Dakota Male College Coach of the Year by the North Dakota Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

The awards cap a landmark year for Williston State athletics, as both programs established themselves among the state's elite collegiate teams. With conference championships, regional titles, national recognition, and multiple athletes advancing to Division I programs, the 2025-26 season will be remembered as one of the most successful in Teton history.
