WILLISTON, N.D. — The Williston State College women's basketball team will look to continue a historic season on the national stage Tuesday afternoon, as the Tetons face Hutchinson Community College in a National Tournament matchup in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on March 24, with the game streamed live on ESPN+ as part of a multiyear media rights agreement with ESPN. The tournament's national championship game will air on ESPNU. The radio Broadcast will be on Keys 660 as Mike Ruter did make the trip south.

Williston State (32-1) enters the tournament as the No. 20 overall seed, boasting one of the most explosive offenses in the country. The Tetons average 91.2 points per game while shooting 48.6% from the field, 34.0% from three-point range, and 74.6% from the free-throw line. They also control the glass at 44.1 rebounds per game and distribute efficiently with 20.8 assists per contest.

Leading the charge is sophomore guard Taylah Murtagh, who has elevated her game in 2025-26. Murtagh averages 18.6 points per game while shooting 48.7% from the field and 35.4% from beyond the arc. Her ability to score at all three levels makes her a focal point of the Tetons' high-powered attack.

She is complemented by a strong supporting cast, including Jersey Berg, who averages 16.7 points per game on an efficient 52.5% shooting clip, and Leila Heffernan, who adds 14.9 points per game while shooting an impressive 59.0% from the field. Together, the trio forms a balanced and potent offensive unit capable of scoring inside and out.

Hutchinson Community College (27-6), the No. 13 overall seed, presents a formidable challenge. The Blue Dragons are led by sophomore guard Katie Duncan, who has emerged as a key contributor this season. Duncan averages 13.2 points per game and leads Hutchinson in minutes, playing 33.0 per contest while providing perimeter scoring with 2.1 three-pointers per game.

Tuesday's matchup pits Williston State's fast-paced, high-scoring offense against a disciplined Hutchinson squad looking to make a deep postseason run. With both teams featuring experienced guards and balanced scoring, the contest is expected to be competitive from start to finish.

A win would move the Tetons one step closer to a national title and further cement what has already been a remarkable 32-win campaign.
